{:id}JAKARTA (UNAS) – Universitas Nasional melakukan penandatangan Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dengan Global One – sebuah Non Government Organization (NGO) yang bergerak antara lain di bidang kemanusiaan, air, sanitasi dan higienitas (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene/ WASH) yang berbasis di London, Inggris. Global One memberikan hibah kepada Universitas Nasional untuk menjalankan program-program terkait dengan WASH. Penandatangan ini merupakan bukti kepercayaan pihak Internasional kepada Universitas Nasional akan komitmen dan integritasnya dalam menjalankan Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi.
Penandatangan ini dihadiri oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Administrasi, Keuangan dan Sumber Daya Manusia, Dr. Eko Sugiyanto, M.Si, Wakil Rektor Bidang Penelitian, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dan Kerjasama, Prof. Ernawati Sinaga serta Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan, Dr. Zainul Djumadin, M.Si, dan Asia Programme Manager Global One, Shanza Ali, di Grand Kemang, Jakarta, Jumat (22/1). Selain itu, hadir pula Ketua Lembaga Pemuliaan Lingkungan Hidup dan Sumber Daya Alam Majelis Ulama Indonesia, Dr. Hayu Prabowo dan Chief Water, Sanitation and Hygiene UNICEF, Aidan Cronin serta para pimpinan fakultas Universitas Nasional lainnya.
Ke depannya, Universitas Nasional dan Global One akan menjalankan program-program yang berkaitan dengan masalah air, sanitasi dan higienitas. Kampanye ini akan dikaitkan dengan nilai-nilai agama yang diharapkan dapat lebih diterima oleh masyarakat di Indonesia yang mayoritas beragama muslim. Oleh karena itu, Global One juga menggandeng Indonesia Women for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (IWWASH) – sebuah jejaring perempuan yang bergerak di bidang WASH dan Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI).
‘’Global One bukan organisasi asing bagi Universitas Nasional. Sebelumnya kita sudah pernah membuat kolaborasi untuk konservasi lingkungan dan mendorong terbentuknya IWWASH (Indonesia Woman for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene). Dengan kerjasama ini, membuktikan bahwa Universitas Nasional cukup dipandang oleh organisasi Internasional khususnya konsistensi dalam menjalankan Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi,’’ ungkap Prof. Ernawati.
Bagi Global One, Indonesia merupakan pilot project dari program yang akan dijalankan di empat negara. Negara lain adalah Bangladesh, Pakistan dan India dan masalah WASH merupakan masalah penting yang menjadi fokus dari organisasi ini.
‘’Kami melihat ada gap yang cukup besar untuk permasalahan WASH. Padahal Islam punya solusinya. Kami ingin dapat menghapus gap itu melalui pendekatan agama. Karena itu, Indonesia merupakan prioritas dari program WASH yang akan kami jalani, karena merupakan negara berpenduduk muslim terbesar di dunia. Dan kami percaya Universitas Nasional dapat membantu kami mewujudkannya,’’ ungkap Asia Programme Manager, Global One, Shanza Ali pada kesempatan yang sama.
Wakil Ketua Pusat Pengajian Islam Universitas Nasional, Dr. Fachruddin Mangunjaya menambahkan, Universitas Nasional telah menyiapkan program-program untuk implementasi kerjasama dengan Global One. Antara lain melakukan sosialisasi dan melatih (Training of Trainer/ ToT) kepada para pimpinan pesantren dan masjid. Diharapkan program ini dapat memberikan manfaat yang besar tidak hanya bagi masyarakat, namun juga bangsa dan negara.
‘’Kegiatan ini turut membantu program pemerintah dan Sustainable Development Goals yang menjadi acuan kerangka pembangunan dunia tahun 2015 – 20130, dimana salah satu goals nya adalah masalah air dan sanitasi, yaitu memastikan ketersediaan dan pengelolaan yang berkesinambungan atas air dan sanitasi untuk semua orang. Untuk itu, kita perlu memberikan pemahaman dan kesadaran tentang pentingnya air dan sanitasi terlebih dahulu. Antara lain melalui pendekatan agama,’’ ungkap Fachruddin. Global One provides grants to Universitas Nasional to run programs associated with WASH. This is evidence of international confidence to Universitas Nasional for the commitment and integrity in running the Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi, which are teaching, researching and doing community services.
Signer was attended by the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Finance and Human Resources of Universitas Nasional, Dr. Eko Sugiyanto, M.Si, Vice Chancellor for Research, Community Services and Cooperation of Universitas Nasional, Prof. Ernawati Sinaga and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of Universitas Nasional, Dr. Zainul Djumadin, M.Si, and Asia Programme Manager of Global One, Shanza Ali, at the Grand Kemang, Jakarta, Friday (22/1). In addition, there were also Chairman of the Breeding Institute of Environment and Natural Resources Council of Ulama Indonesia, Dr. Hayu Prabowo and Chief Water, Sanitation and Hygiene UNICEF, Aidan Cronin as well as the Chief of other faculties of the National University.
In the future, the Universitas Nasional and Global One will run the programs relating to the problems of water, sanitation and hygiene. The campaign will be associated with religious values are expected to be more accepted by the community in the predominantly Muslim Indonesia. Therefore, on the same occasion Global One also signed an agreement with the Indonesian Women for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (IWWASH) – a network of women engaged in the WASH and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
” Global One is already familiar to the organization of the Universitas Nasional. Previously we have made collaboration for the conservation of the environment and encourage the formation IWWASH (Indonesia Woman for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene). With this partnership, proving that the Universitas Nasional sufficiently regarded by international organizations, especially the consistency in implementing Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, ” said Prof. Ernawati.
For Global One, Indonesia is a pilot project of the program to be executed in four countries. Other countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan and India and the WASH issues is an important issue which is the focus of this organization.
” We saw a large gap to WASH issues. Whereas Islam has the solution. We want to be able to erase that gap through a religious approach. Therefore, Indonesia is a priority of the WASH program which we will live, because it is the largest Muslim country in the world. And we believe the National University can help us to make it happen, ” said Asia Programme Manager, Global One, Shanza Ali on the same occasion.
Vice-chairman of the Islamic Study Centre Universitas Nasional, Dr. Fachruddin Mangunjaya added, Universitas Nasional has set up programs for the implementation of cooperation with Global One. Among other socialization and training to the heads of Islamic boarding schools and mosques on WASH content. This program is expected to be of great benefit not only for the community, but also the nation.
” This activity help the government program and the Sustainable Development Goals is the reference frame of the construction of the world in 2015-20130, where one of his goals is the problem of water and sanitation, which ensures the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for everyone. For that, we need to provide an understanding and awareness of the importance of water and sanitation in advance, ” said Fachruddin.
Socialization and training conducted by the National University will use a guidebook on WASH currently being made by IWWASH and MUI. IWWASH also will conduct socialization and training of trainer to leaders of Muslim organizations in Indonesia. While MUI plans to incorporate material on this WASH material into Friday sermon.{:}
